Our Mission

The mission of the First Ward Civic Council begins and ends with bringing our neighbors together and bettering our community.

First Ward is a newly rediscovered jewel hidden in plain site. Once a railroad community, First Ward is rich in history and a portal to amazing experiences to come!

First Ward has something to offer for everyone and has become a thriving community of makers, creators, artists, and entrepreneurs in an accessible, walkable neighborhood. Tree-lined streets give way to local businesses ranging from breweries, fine dining, indoor golf, rock climbing, bike and running trails, and one-of-a-kind casual dining experiences.

Parts of First Ward have been lovingly kept historic and fit nicely alongside elegant town homes and taller single family style homes with breathtaking rooftop views.

We strive to weave together the thread of community as we meet once a month to share in neighborhood concerns through First Ward Civic Council gatherings.
